Christmas in the Year of the Octopus

Well people, Christmas + chemotherapy is a lot. A lot of joy, a lot of togetherness, a lot of planning, a lot of interest in napping. But we did it!

I have so many things I want to write about related to Christmas this year. However, I really have been so durn tired. Too tired to write the things I want to write. All of the Lights

Exodus 13:21-22: By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

Star Wars and Lincoln Skywalker

Our older son’s name is Lincoln, and occasionally someone will say, “Oh, I like his name. How did you pick it out?” I’ll explain that of course we love the historical significance, and we generally like older-sounding names, but we actually got it from the show Prison Break. It Happens Every Year On Christmas Eve (But This Year It Didn’t)

The Christmas season stresses me out. It forces me to add more to an already-tiring schedule. I grumble while Bryce cheerfully watches Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
